Job Description: JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist attorneys and other paralegals with assigned projects to meet client needs. Assist with management of litigation cases and/or large projects in practice area, including, but not limited to utilizing e Discovery software, document organization, document retrieval, document production, maintaining document databases and other case files, preparing witness binders for depositions, preparing deposition exhibits, preparing trial exhibits and other duties for general trial preparation. Perform case/project management duties. Perform general research utilizing Westlaw, Pacer and the Internet; cite check and proof read court documents and/or legal memoranda; assist with the preparation of court and agency filings. May monitor judicial, congressional or executive branch activities of interest to practice area or to a particular client. Enter client time in DTE and overtime on a daily basis. Perform administrative tasks as needed.
Must be specifically listed on resume in order to be considered for this position:
• Bachelors degree required
• 3 years minimum Litigation Paralegal experience required
Trial experience strongly preferred, in particular experience with Section 337 investigations before the ITC. Familiarity with patent cases, i.e. pharmaceutical case process preferred. Experience with large document collections and productions preferred. Thorough knowledge of the judicial process preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills to present information in an understandable way. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure. Ability to prioritize work and manage time. Ability to work flexible hours in order to meet deadlines. Ability to travel as needed. Ability to work independently. Proficiency with Lexis/Courtlink, Westlaw, PACER/ECF and Bluebook. Strong computer skills including word processing, E-mail, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Power Point, Databases. Experience with e-Discovery, i.e. Relativity and IPRO strongly preferred. General knowledge of research tools, such as special legal and/or government agency data bases and the Internet to obtain required information and documents. Ability to interact with all levels of staff.
